Brittany York is a citizen of the world who lives her life on the go. Born in London, England and raised in Hong Kong, dark-haired Brittany has lived a life that most people could only dream of. Having been a competitive swimmer as a child, she learned quickly that she wanted to experience every thrill and adventure that she could. As a young English rose in Hong Kong, Brittany was a competitive swimmer, and nearly earned a spot on the Olympic team in Hong Kong—but in a stroke of bad luck, she broke her leg skiing and had to drop out of the running. It’s safe to say Miss York has never known the simple life. “Anything that’s fast—that’s for me,” says Brittany with her full pout on display. “I like to push things, to see how far I can go. I love a challenge.” And boy, does our Miss October 1990 mean it. She’s done everything from hang gliding in Florida to scuba diving in Hawaii. Brittany says she loves a challenge, and she isn’t kidding—in addition to the aforementioned, she’s been bungee-jumping and has jumped from a hot air balloon. “I also love having the freedom to travel where and when I want.” Globetrotting Miss York has taken trips to Kenya and Brazil, and she’s been fortunate enough to take part in three world cruises at a young age. “I've always done things earlier than most people my age,” says our Playmate of the Month. Brittany speaks fluent French, and could easily study at the Sorbonne, but always wanted to earn a degree in computer sciences in the United States. “My idea of the United States came from seeing California in the movies,” says Brittany, who enrolled at the University of San Diego. “White-sand beaches. People surfing and playing volleyball and drinking margaritas in outdoor cafés.” California was the obvious choice for this gorgeous traveler, but its appeal was not limited to its beaches and universities. Miss York had aspirations of appearing in movies and television shows—and after she moved to the west coast, opportunity knocked on her door several times. Having played the sexy dental hygienist in an episode of Seinfeld, and one of Jerry’s former girlfriends in 1996’s Jerry Maguire, jet-setting Brittany has decided to stay put in California. “This is the place for me,” says Brittany.
