Shauna Sand is something of a legend. Born in San Diego, she’s a most welcome variation on the California girl – petite and tanned, teenage Shauna was more likely to be found at the dance studio than on the beach. Studying tap, jazz and ballet, she modeled on the side, and at the age of eighteen she took a break from le mannequinat to become a business student in France. “Lately, I’m striving to put 100 percent into my acting,” she says. Funnily enough, Shauna met her first husband, Lorenzo Lamas, on the set of his show, Renegade, playing the role of a swimsuit model. “He asked if he could borrow my suntan lotion, which was funny, because there wasn’t any sun,” she remembers. “On the day of our wedding, it rained, but at just the right moment the sun came out and it was the most beautiful day of my life!” To congratulate the new Mrs. Lamas on her nuptials, we gifted Shauna with a bridal-themed pictorial as our Miss May 1996. Though now divorced from Lamas, who Shauna describes as her first love, the couple share three children, and she continues to model and act all over the world. Most recently, she’s become a French TV star, appearing on the series L’île des Verités and Hollywood Girls. With her status as a sex symbol, Miss Sand never wants for male attention, and can be seen on the arm of any number of handsome Hollywood men. “Something strange about me: I’m always ready,” she admits. “You can just look at me and I’ll be ready. When I’m in the mood, I don’t need any foreplay – and I wake up completely aroused in the morning.” Talk about morning glory.
