Growing up, sweet Terri Lynn Doss developed a passion for all things fast at a very young age. Thanks to her family’s fascination with the world of drag racing, blonde-haired Terri spent her Sundays indulging her passion—working the track at the National Hot Rod Association races. “Every Sunday morning, we would get up at 6am and go to the track,” says Miss Doss. Since drag races were a Doss family affair, Terri would operate the souvenir stand with her brother, while Mom sold tickets and Dad ran the raceway. “Sometimes, I got to hand out the trophies after races,” says Terri, her blue-gray eyes lighting up. “But, what I remember most is coming home and shaking off all the dust that I had got on my hair and my clothes.” You’d think that life in Hollywood’s fast lane would come easy to Terri—after all, she grew up on the fastest racing lanes around—but she wasn’t interested in all that. The all-natural model moved from Chicago to Hollywood to pursue a career in acting, and no wild partying was going to deter her from accomplishing her goals. She managed to land a role in the movie Lethal Weapon, and couldn’t believe her luck when she was asked to practice a scene at the director’s house. Guess who was there tanning by the pool? “I said, ‘are you Mel Gibson?’” laughs Terri. “He smiled. He's a wonderful man. I hope I can work with him again—and soon!” Unfortunately, her part in the movie was left on the cutting room floor, but that didn’t stop our Playmate of the Month. “I'll be whatever—I really have no idea what I'm going to be, but I know one thing: I'm going to enjoy it,” says Miss Doss. With talent and confidence on her side, Terri landed a role in Bruce Willis’s Die Hard, was John Stamos’s girlfriend on a couple of episodes of Full House and had a reoccurring role as Nurse Terri on Days of Our Lives. “I want to act, and I'm going to work hard on my acting,” says our confident Miss July 1988. “But, I want to put down roots, too. People say you can't be happily married in Hollywood, we'll see!” If anyone could do it, it’s Terri Lynn Doss.
