Before Playboy, Southern belle Nancy Jo Hooper had lived in the same small, Georgian town throughout her entire life and the furthest she ever ventured was to Savannah. All of that changed when the busty brunette found herself at the drugstore and was told by several Playboy readers in line at the checkout stand that she had exactly what it took to be a Playmate of the Month. Sweet and innocent, the all-natural beauty with dark, chestnut-brown hair blushed and responded with a soft ‘thank you’ before rushing home to tell her sister Doris about her experience. “It occurred to me that no one from Playboy would ever find me here on their own,” she says. Sending us snapshots of her all-natural body, Nancy Jo had our undivided attention so we sent this Georgia Peach plane tickets to Chicago so we could meet the small-town girl and take some test shots. Overwhelmed but excited at the prospect of becoming our Playmate of the Month and to take her first plane ride ever, Nancy Jo left her hometown for bigger and better things. “I love being a Playmate because I'll look back on it as an important experience of my youth,” says our Miss February 1964. “A lot of people say I resemble Sophia Loren.
