Playmate Carol Willis was born in Bowie County, Texas, but she knew as a youngster she wasn’t going to spend her life there and neither would her many siblings. “I have five stepbrothers and three sisters,” says Carol whose siblings now live everywhere from North Carolina to Florida. “We have the United States virtually surrounded.” She wasn’t sure at first which city or state would suit her needs or if she’d follow in the footsteps of one of her siblings, but she did know she wanted to be somewhere warm and by the water. The part-Cherokee beauty tried living in San Francisco, but she found it wasn’t a good fit. “I love the ocean and the mountains,” says Carol. The all-natural brunette loves riding horses, cycling, hiking, kite-flying and walking along the shore—she was in need of a city that encompassed all that her favorite activities required. Our busty Playmate of the Month found her own slice of paradise in Laguna Beach, CA where she was able to indulge in all of her pastimes. “If I had more time, I’d free-dive or skydive,” confesses the adrenaline-junkie who wishes more people would explore everything life has to offer. “Isn't that what it's all about?” Life is most certainly about seizing every opportunity that crosses our path and when Carol had the chance to model for Playboy, she couldn’t refuse it. “I'm a telephone answering service operator fulltime. Playboy is my first modeling job!” exclaims our Miss July 1970, our 200th centerfold. “I’m easy going, but strong in my convictions.” What’s next for Carol Willis? She says she plans to spend her time chasing after two important things. “My ambitions now are to achieve happiness and love,” admits Carol.
