If we had to describe Cheryl Bachman in two words, those words would be ‘wild child’. Born in Jacksonville, Cheryl was known as the ‘pretty baby’ of her Florida family. A few months shy of her 21st birthday, her mother and older sister encouraged her to enter a local pageant. “I thought, Oh, my goodness, what am I doing,” remembers Cheryl, who despite her nervousness won first place in the contest. “When I do something, I like to do it with a little difference. I don’t want to be like everybody else.” Cheryl was flown to Clearwater for the finals, and then to Jamaica for a modeling job – and from there, put on a direct flight to Los Angeles, where she’d been invited to stay at the Playboy Mansion. “I was in shock,” she says. “I was like, ‘Look! There’s the Hollywood sign!’” After a successful test, Cheryl became Miss October 1991 – one of a kind, just like she wanted, and certainly not like anybody else. After an appearance on the TV series Renegade, Cheryl set her sights even higher – mere attention wouldn’t be enough for this country-sweet, city-smart Centerfold. “I want to be an actress,” says Cheryl, smiling devilishly – specifically, she’d love to be in horror movies, and has the damsel-in-distress scream down pat. “I want to be the last character left alive,” she insists. “At the end, people will be watching me and going, “Look out! Get out of there!’” Speaking of being watched, Cheryl commands more than her fair share of male attention – out on the town in Hollywood, she leaves a trail of club-goers pining in her wake. However, her ideal man is somewhat more rugged than the average guy. Our Miss October has a weakness for long-haired men in leather, especially when said leather is in the form of cowboy boots. “The man I love is beautiful to look at, great to talk with and wild in bed,” declares Cheryl. “If you see me dancing at a club in Hollywood, don’t come up and grab me like you know me. Talk to me – take your time!” We’ve got all the time in the world for a wild thing like Cheryl Bachman.
