If someone told Eloise Broady that she would one day become a famous Playmate, actress and philanthropist, and get married to a self-made billionaire, she would’ve laughed in their face. But—no joke—that’s exactly where life has taken her. Growing up in Houston, Eloise lived an ordinary life, but that quickly changed when she went from being a carefree teenager to a very young wife. “When I got married, at 15, I still had braces on my teeth,” admits the tall blonde. After 8 years of marriage and two children, Miss Broady decided she wanted more from her life, and moved to California to see what she could really achieve on her own as an independent woman. “It wasn't until then that I realized I was pretty. I thought, maybe it's time to listen to all those people saying ‘you ought to be a model’ or ‘you ought to be an actress,’” says busty Eloise. The time to take risks and embark on an adventure was now, and she quickly jumped at this chance. Acting as Kim Basinger’s body double in Nadine, she was emboldened to become a Playmate, our Miss April 1988. “Being in Playboy is the biggest rush. I’m completely excited,” says our Playmate of the Month. “When people ask about it, I say, ‘you’ll just have to wait for it to unfold—literally.’” Thanks to her centerfold, Eloise caught the eye of many Hollywood producers. She went on to act in popular movies like Weekend at Bernie’s, Troop Beverly Hills, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. All that was missing from this Playmate’s life was love, which came her way in 1990 care of a blind date. Her date was John Paul DeJoria—better known as the co-founder of Paul Mitchell hair products and co-founder of Patrón Spirits. The two were a match made in heaven, and married in a quite lavish affair years later. Today, Eloise DeJoria works closely with her husband on their many philanthropic ventures that assist everyone from addicts getting over their addictions to helping animals in need of good homes. “No craziness for Eloise,” laughs Eloise. Now more than ever, this Playmate wants to make the world a better place.
