When we look at Daphnee Lynn Duplaix, we think of one word: bold. Italian, French and Haitian, Daphnee was born in Manhattan and raised all over, where her eye-catching figure set her apart from her less-than-fetching circumstances. Her mother, a former dancer, moved Daphnee, her brother and sisters, and several cousins to Florida, and Daphnee paid her tuition at the International College of Fine Arts with tips from Hooters. “Growing up, I was always in the spotlight,” she says. “I’ve always wanted to be an actress.” On set of The Specialist, in which she was an extra, Daphnee had the good fortune to meet Sylvester Stallone, who advised her to audition for the roles she wanted, not any and all roles. “My ambition is to be recognized as one of the sexiest actors of all time,” she says. “My words to live by: Just do it!” When offered the chance to become a Playmate, Daphnee followed her own advice, and made headlines as our Miss July 1997. With a move to Los Angeles, Daphnee landed a role on NBC’s Passions, and since then has appeared on CSI, One Life to Live, House of Lies and just about every TV show under the California sun. “I’m doing the acting thing,” she says. “I’d love to get some kick-butt action roles!” If you ask us, there’s no shortage of action at Playboy, and we’re happy to have Miss Duplaix along for the ride.
