Playmate Vicki Peters is a sweet, tall blonde from Minneapolis, Minnesota who loves to try anything and everything at least once. “In my spare time, I design clothes, sew, paint, “create,” dance, and play tennis,” says the all-natural beauty. “When I was younger I did a few gigs at small clubs with a band. I play bass guitar.” The Twin Cities area knows our busty Playmate of the Month by name, thanks to her popular band and to her budding modeling career. Having moved to California to further explore this exciting, new chapter in her life, Vicki jumped at the chance to pose for Playboy’s The No-Bra Look feature in September 1970. One taste of life as a Playboy model and she was hooked. Looking to add more content to her portfolio, the busty blonde met with a commercial photographer, Harry Langdon, to see about possible modeling work to help further her career and make her a Playmate. Instead, Vicki found herself a new love interest and a job as his assistant. “Harry and I began dating and I got interested in his work. Then one day he asked me to fill in for his secretary, who was taking a vacation. I agreed to do it for a couple of weeks. That was almost two years ago, and I've been there ever since,” says Vicki who has learned a lot about photography since meeting Harry. “I've learned about everything there is to know at a photo studio. It's a thoroughly creative process and I've become fascinated with it. Now, although I still have ideas about an acting career, I think I'd be equally happy to stay in this business. I'd also like to make movies. And the possibility of directing excites me, too. There are a lot of ways I could go. A number of film people I've recently met might be able to help me in the future.” Launching an acting career isn’t a walk in the park—a fact our Miss April 1972 has come to realize the hard way. “I'd modeled and thought I could do that while looking for film opportunities,” recalls a disheartened Vicki. “I really admire women like Jean Harlow and Lucille Ball. For some reason I identify with both of them. I had some minor roles, but got depressed with my lack of real progress.” After acting in relatively unknown films like Blood Mania and The Manson Massacre, our Miss April 1972 put her acting dreams to rest indefinitely and decided to focus elsewhere. “I'm a perfectionist and being a Virgo, that's typical. I'm rather a shy person at times and embarrass easily. But, I love to meet new people and I love to talk!” she says. “Eventually I'd like to find the right man and have a family.” California may not have brought Vicki Peters the acting career she wanted, but we have no doubt it will bring her love.
