Get to know October Playmate of the Month 2011, Amanda Cerny. The Pittsburg-born model, actress, and philanthropist has lived throughout the United States and Europe but now calls Florida home. At the age of 20, we met Amanda when she was attending Florida State University, studying international affairs. I had two semesters left, but I took the year off to be Miss October, she says. Back then, Amanda wanted to use her status and influence as a Playmate to make a difference and she did. Im on the advisory council in Jacmel, she told us back in 2011, Were working to rebuild hotels and tourist attractions to support the local economy. Nowadays, Amanda is a UN ambassador and works with other well-known people in the entertainment business to give back to her community and countries in need. A goal-oriented woman, it never occurred to Amanda to pose nude for Playboy until she saw a high school close friend, Kelly Carrington, our Miss October 2008, do it too. I couldnt believe it, reminisces Amanda. Just two weeks after submitting her naked and bikini photos, she was locked in as a Playmate-to-be. Hef approved my Centerfold, she says. I got to be Miss October, too. I screamed and called all my friends and family. Since her 2011 sexy Playmate pictorial, Amanda has been highly successful in modeling, acting, influencing, and content creation. You may even recognize her from her short 6-second comedy sketches on the popular video app, Vine around 2012, where Amandas career and online presence skyrocketed. I was trying to get acting roles. I would just post and hope for the best, reminisces Amanda. People were liking and watching [my videos]. I grew a following up to four million within a couple of years. I kind of used [Vine] to help rebrand myself into comedy. Now with a massive following on Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Tik Tok, and YouTube, Amanda has been featured in many popular movies and skits and has partnered with countless brands within the last ten years. Im not where I want to be just yet. [Im] always wanting to be better and learn, she says of her career so far. Now I am able to go into so many different verticals whether its fashion, consulting, creating [or] producing content. Amanda also hosts a podcast with Sommer Ray, where the two women talk dating and relationships for the modern woman. Its a way for us to sit with friends and talk, she says about the show. A lot of women talk about women empowerment and doing things together but everybody is so afraid of competition. I [thought,] why not walk the walk and reach out. It was a good opportunity for our brands to come together. Currently, Amanda lives in West Palm Beach, Florida, with her boyfriend and dalmatian puppy, Falco.
