Anna-Marie Goddard

As Cinderella stories go, Anna-Marie Goddards pretty much takes the cake. Raised in Ysbrechtum, a village in Friesland, the Netherlands, Anna-Marie spent her childhood in the barn, tending to the familys cows. When her chores were done, shed fill up on American movies, dreaming of emigrating and becoming a Hollywood star. I had to get out, to see more of the world, she recalls. When I got the opportunity to become a model, it looked too good to turn down. I figured Id do it for a year and then continue my studies. However, the world had other plans for Miss Goddard her career took off, and before she knew it, she was a member of the jet-setting, high-fashion elite. In Miami, a Playboy scout found Anna-Marie down and begged her to shoot for the 40th Anniversary Playmate Search. I was flattered, but not interested, she says. I was a fashion model, not a nude model or so I thought. Everybody she knew including her mother told Anna-Marie shed be crazy not to pose for Playboy, so she called us back and agreed to become our Miss January 1994, our 40th Anniversary Playmate. I was the very first Playmate to appear in Playboys International editions in Russia, Taiwan, Croatia and the Czech Republic, she says proudly. In addition, Anna-Marie was named Playmate of the Year in the Dutch edition, earning her fame in her home country. Adjusting to America was really easy, she says, and perhaps Anna-Maries European roots set her apart in front of the camera, shes smooth, sensual and totally uninhibited, which is refreshing this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Europeans are more open, she agrees. Even in conservative Friesland, people dont worry about nudity. Anna-Marie misses her homeland especially, she says, tiny villages without McDonalds but with a husband and son in America, our Miss February 1994 is here to stay. My most romantic moment was running away to get married in Las Vegas, she says happily. Life couldnt be better at this point Im very content!
