Were beyond excited to welcome the Celebrity feature, Asa Akira, to Playboy Plus! As you likely already know, Asa is an award-winning adult star, author, director, Pornhub brand ambassador, mother, model, and so much more. The first thing Ill share about me is that I hate talking about myself, laughs Asa as we sat down to get to know her better. And Im probably terrible at doing so objectively. That said, I like to think that Im funny, empathetic, and reliable or rather, those are the three things I strive to be the most. From New York City, Asa takes pride in where she calls home. Its still my favorite city in the world. I love that no matter how rich or successful you are, life is still a struggle, she shares thoughtfully. I think it creates a unique camaraderie that isnt present in many places. Asa has been in the adult industry for many years and isnt slowing down soon. Im passionate about all things sex: doing it, talking about it, working toward normalizing it, and fighting for rights surrounding it, says Asa. Ive been in sex work my whole adult life thus far, and I plan to do so for the rest of it. Shes proud of the life shes created for herself. Im proud that Ive made it this far in life doing what I do, she says. I love that I get to explore my sexuality in a safe way. I love that I get to make a living doing what I love the most. As for collaborating with us, its been in the works for some time. Playboy is just one of those brands that have been a part of my brain map for as long as I can remember, shares Asa.
