A stunning curve model, Riley graces the pages of our Equality issue with a confidence and vulnerability that will leave you in awe of her. To me, equality means representation, she begins. Coming to Playboy from Calabasas, California, Riley grew up in the industry with two parents who work in film. Having worked with Jennifer Lopez at just 15, she was destined for stardom, though she found herself feeling isolated when going to castings. Back then, I was going to all these castings with really skinny girls, and I wasnt booking jobs. I wasnt them, she says. When I turned 18 and officially became a curvy model, I thought, why didnt anyone offer me this in the beginning. Why was straight-size modeling the only way? I love seeing so many more girls in the game now. Not only did she face obstacles because of her figure, but also for her ethnicity. When I go to castings, Im always told Im not Latina enough, or Im not white enough because Im mixed race. Its frustrating that Hollywood still adheres to stereotypes. Through the good and the frustrating, Riley has fully come into herself as a woman, a model, and a role model. I never thought it was important for someone like me to be in Playboy, but I hope some 15-year-old girl, crying because she doesnt look like what she sees in media, sees me and says, Im okay.
