August 2020 Playmate, Ali Chanel, is proud to share her story. A mother and model, Ali’s life is constantly moving, but we sat down with her and got to know who she is and what she stands for. “When I first started modeling, I got in my own way,” shares Ali, who grew up in Tarzana, California. “I didn’t really like myself; I felt awkward and uncomfortable.” After some time modeling, Ali found her agency Natural Model Management. “Joining my agency helped me overcome my deeply ingrained insecurities. They have this ‘healthy is the new skinny’ campaign,” she says. “I’ve gained so much confidence from this industry. Having people around you who support you and accept you makes all the difference.” For Ali, being a role model to her daughter is of utmost importance, and even what drove her to pose for Playboy. “My body created and nourished an actual human. It feels like such a waste of time to think about myself and my body negatively after that. Now I’m friends with my body,” she says thoughtfully. “I want to be a role model for my daughter and raise her to be a compassionate, genuine, and confident woman. To me, posing for Playboy is a part of that.” And it’s not about the nudity for Ali; really, it’s about using her voice. “As a Playmate, you are given this incredible opportunity to speak up and use your platform for good,” she says. “I feel so proud to be a mom and a Playmate.
