Playmate Danielle Alcaraz found Playboy in a unique way. Growing up in Los Angeles during the 1990s, Danielle was raised by her father, who worked in LA as a tattoo artist. “I spent most of my formative years hanging out in the father’s studio,” she tells us. “After a few years, I became his little apprentice, taking on odd jobs like sterilizing tattoo needles and eventually giving small tattoos by the time I was in middle school.” It was during this time where Danielle encountered Playboy for the first time. “In the studio bathroom, there was always a stack of magazines — Playboy among them,” she says. “Growing up around artists, I had grown accustomed to seeing the female body as an art form, but Playboy was one of the first places I saw women being confident in their sexuality.” By the age of 20, Danielle was modeling full-time and was also one of the models performing on Kanye West’s Yeezus tour. It was on tour that Danielle made the connection to Playboy. “One of my friends, Dominique Sharp, who I worked with on the Yeezus tour, became the August 2015 Playmate,” she says. For Danielle, posing for Playboy is in line with what’s important to her. “I hope to encourage other women to embrace their natural beauty and empower them to be their most authentic selves,” she says.
