Holly Joan Hart is truly one of a kind. Tall and slender, she’s French, Irish, Puerto Rican, Colombian and African-American – in other words, a representative of America’s melting pot. “I’m delighted to be a Playmate,” says Holly. “I’m proud to be ‘all of the above’. I want to prove that multi-ethnicity can be beautiful.” One appreciative fan letter from our July 1998 issue confirms this – with her long legs and million-watt smile, Miss Hart, our Miss April 1998 will never be in want of fans. The daughter of a police officer, Holly could have followed in her father’s footsteps and become a cop, but she’s got more elementary ambitions. “Police work is too stressful,” she insists. “My dad has been shot at – teaching school is a lot safer! I want to teach first grade and mold uncorrupted lives.” Herself the graduate of a strict Jesuit prep school, Holly knows a thing or two about shaping destinies, and if her Playmate photos are any indication, she can do just about anything she sets her mind to do. “I’m proud to be counted among the most beautiful women in the world,” she says. “Even if I’m at the grocery store in sweats and no makeup, five people will come up and say, ‘Hey, Holly – great Playboy layout!’ When I’ve got a feeling about something, you can bet I’m going to make it happen.” That’s our happening Miss April.
